With hints of realism mixed with the freedom of a stylistic approach I must say you tackled this seemingly complicated composition well. The use of of bold lines of both black and white help simplify what could have quickly turned to a very busy design. Guiding the viewer's eye to the focus. His expression giving it a childlike and playful feel. The colors, pleasing. You simplified the design making it easier to read quickly. I am very impressed with your use of foreground, making it more believable.
